UNFORGIVENESS OR PEACE?

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15 (KJV)

Many times people hurt us with words and actions. Sometimes they realize it and sometimes they don't. Unless we are robots, it is definitely easy to be hurt and/or angered.
There are people who are family and friends who sometimes are inconsiderate and act in immature ways. Yet we are called by God to forgive them. Knowing this is what we are suppose to do, forgive them, isn't easy. In fact sometimes, it is down right hard. Let's face it, we want to nurse our hurts awhile..."make them suffer by not speaking to the"...let's face it, this isn't really hurting them, it's hurting us.

It takes a while for us to figure out but even doctors tell us that our anger at someone stirs in us emotions that release all sorts of toxins in our body. Toxins we don't need. Some of those can make us sick.

So when we do get our feelings hurt, just forgive them and move on through your day. Release them to God and let Him handle them. He knows how to reach their hearts. We then can have peace in our hearts.

Lord, help me to be willing to forgive others and to make that effort and to release them from my unforgiveness. Amen
