In 2 Corinthians 12:9: Jesus says to Paul, "But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”" I think He is saying to us that His grace is sufficient enough for us...His power is enough. He is saying He can, and He will overcome our weaknesses. He knows us. He created us. He knows we are all weak. But He chooses us anyway. I think that is what leads Paul to say, "My strength is made perfect in weakness." We must remember, God is strong.
We can't earn it. Maybe this is one of the reasons we don't truly understand it. You see God's grace doesn't cost us anything. That's right, does not cost us anything. But let me remind us, it cost Jesus everything! While we were sinners, not living a life surrendered to Him, God showed all mankind His love for us all. He gave His only Son. Christ died for us. He took our place on the cross.
That is grace! That is God's grace.
