Your Free Gift From God

“When you pick up the cross of unpopularity, wherever you may be, you will find God’s grace is there, more than sufficient to meet your every need.” Billy Graham

Grace is the unmerited favor of God. We don't deserve it, yet He gives it to us freely.

Why? Because He loves us.

When you look at the cross, Jesus died for me and you. He took our sins upon Himself. Because of Him, we have God's grace. We have forgiveness and eternal life.

Our human mind has a difficult time understanding the magnitude of what Christ did for us and the grace that God so freely gave to us.

I didn't deserve it! It was a gift! That is Grace!

Can You Be A Special Messenger?

Paul, was a special messenger. An Apostle. Jesus Christ chose Paul personally to represent Him for the faith of God’s chosen ones. Jesus wanted Paul to lead and encourage them to recognize and pursue the knowledge of the truth which leads to godliness. Who better to represent Him than a man who persecuted Him and His followers in the beginning and who had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ himself on the road to Damascas. He could speak with conviction and truth. The Lord wanted them to have hope and a divine guarantee of eternal life, the life which God, who is ever truthful and without deceit, promised before the ages of time began. This is what God has given us. Truth. A divine guarantee of eternal life with Him. The Lord has loved us so much that He wants us to have hope, yes, but also to have that guarantee of eternal life with Him. We can be like Paul, and share this news with those who do not know it.  Don't forget Jesus gave us instructions, he said, "Go therefo

Know Refuge Behind His Shield?

www.medievalchronicles.com We all have times in our lives when we need a shield put in front of us. God is our help and our shield. I have a secure feeling knowing that my God is my refuge and he also is my shield. He shields me from things to protect me when I need protection. It gives me a peace knowing this. In Psalm 18:30 it says, " As for God his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him." I don't doubt that God's word is flawless. His words are true. Yet there are times I have to remind myself that my trust should be put in Him and that I should walk by His words. In our world today, with all the violence we would do well to remember that He is our refuge. He shield is in front of us, His children. Perhaps in the morning we could pray this prayer. Oh Lord my God, I know your way is perfect, that you are leading me today and that your words you say are flawless. You are my shield today and

Words-Full of Life and Death

The Words of the Lord bring forth life. The wrong words can bring forth death. How do I know? The first way is that God's word says so in Proverbs 18:21. The second way I know is twenty-four years ago, I was visiting a family member of my husbands. We were there to attend the funeral of her thirty-nine year old son. I will never forget standing in her kitchen and the words she spoke. She said, "He's told me for years, he would never live to see forty. I used to ask him why?" He said, "I just know I won't, that's all." "I finally just quit asking him. However, I did of course ask him if he had seen a doctor, and he hadn't." Here was a vibrant young man, who enjoyed life, yet pronounced many times out of his mouth he would not live to see forty. And he didn't. Our words are so important. You know the Lord said our tongue is a double-edged sword. " For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-ed

WHAT DO YOU SEE?

shc.edu God said, "And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Acts 2:21 KJV God is no respecter of persons - he wants all of us saved.  How do we know that? "Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons. Acts 10:34 KJV When you see a homeless person, what do you automatically think? Do you have compassion for them or disdain? I see a person that God loves dearly, so much so, that He sent His son to die on the cross for them. Just like He did for me. If God loved them so much to do that, can we not lift them up in prayer asking God to move in their spirit and remind them how much God loves them. To let them know inside God wants to help them. We don't know how they got there, in that place of homelessness. But we can pray for them. "Lord God, we lift the homeless up to you. We don't know the reasons they became homeless, but you do. Come unto them Lord, let t

Does God Speak to You?

Ever wonder if God speaks to you? Well, He does. Now you may not hear Him, but He has spoken to you many, many times. You see with all that noise around us it is hard to hear Him, and especially if you don't know Him. And how do you get to know Him? You read His words. You know that Bible that is probably laying around in your house somewhere? Well that was written to you, for you, by God. He is waiting to talk to you, waiting to communicate the answers you need to make those decisions you are trying to make. Pick up the Bible, and just talk to God. Tell Him, what is going on and what you need. Look for scriptures that talk about God answering us. He is waiting for you. He loves you more than you can imagine.  Blessings!

AROUND THE WORLD IN AMERICA

The other night I was looking for a particular verse in Ephesians and happen to see this verse and quite frankly, it stopped me in my tracks.     " For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. "   Ephesians 2:10 KJV   I mean, since God created every one of us, how could there be so much hatred of other people? Yes, there are many different colors and many nationalities, but all created by one God.   Look at these children, if we hate their parents, how can they be taught love thy neighbor, love others? I heard a minister sometime ago say that if you cut down in our skin we all bled the same color. So my thoughts ran in the direction of the question why? Why do people hate other people because of their color and where they came from? Stop and think, in each one of us, He created talents and skills to help each other, to lift each other up and to share the wonders that He so graciousl

Mary's Answer To God!

I am amazed at the courage Mary had when the angel told her she had been favored by God to bring forth the Christ Child. Are you wondering why I said courage?  Because Mary  was a teenager, not yet married; she is told she will supernaturally become pregnant. People would talk, she could be ostracizied , and Joseph could turn away from her. She could lose everything. Yet, this young girl's faith was so strong she said yes. Luke 1:38 says, And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her." Would I have had such courage? Would my faith have been that strong? I can only hope! And Yours? Billy Graham said, "One of the greatest demonstrations of faith in all the Bible was Mary's answer to the angel, accepting God's will for her life ––no matter the cost." What will our answer be to God?
